Project 2: Contextual Fit

Architectural Design II - Arc 257

This project involves designing an addition to the internationally known Smith House which is located on the Long Island Sound in Connecticut.  This house was designed by Richard Meier - Architect. The owner wants the to keep the theme of the original design while giving the new addition its own character.

We will need to understand and implement the owners current needs while also incorporating more current or dynamic elements to the design.

Narrative

Mr. and Mrs. Smith love watching college volleyball and other sports on their big screen TV. They also like to invite friends and family over to join in. Their current den is too small. The Smiths have decided to add on to their home. They want a large family room with a deck, yo host their sports viewing events. The new addition will also include a master bedroom and master bathroom. Mrs. Smith would like an exercise room too.
